Little hole in the wall place with a Hawaiian menu - We had the Mahi Mahi bowl & the tacos and were completely happy with our meals. Delicious fish, cooked to perfection and the little 'slaw' in the taco made it awesome. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area! Prices are super reasonable also (About 10$ a plate for seafood)

The atmosphere was very nice and our server was also very polite. The restaurant was clean and and interesting combination of two storefronts plus a nice outside eating area complete with small water fountains. The food didn't disappoint us but it wasn't really anything special at all. I ordered the mac salad and it was clear that the person who made it has no clue about what a mac salad from Hawaii is about. The pasta was cooked al dente which is something that is never done with Hawaiian mac salad so it was kind of a bummer. The poke wasn't that special either. The key ingredient, ahi, was there, but that was it. Thankfully, the sauce was fine. One common ingredient that was missing was the green onions but maybe they didn't have any that day. For the entree, I had the loco moco since it was the special of the day. It wasn't bad at all comparing it to a Zippy's loco moco so that was kind of the highlight of the meal. Overall, we'll be back since this is really the only place to get island style food aside from making it yourself!

Service was good. Our server was friendly and helpful. There were lots of combinations & options to choose from. The food was OK but nothing exceptional to me. I am not sure if I would come back. Husband was not super excited about it either.

As you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by the hostess and its like a gift shop. Once seated, we were greeted by Debra (our waitress).

Food is consistently good. Love the fish tacos! Frequently out of lumpia. We've had most of the apps and have no complaints. Rice bowls are simple, honest, good. Create your own salad, tons of options. Saturday's burgers are weird to me. But other people seem to really like them. Dessert lumpia...check! Try it. Beer. Check! Owner comes around to tables frequently. Like really frequently.

Okay atmosphere...loved the Hawaiian decor, but not very cozy. Very nice wait staff, interesting menu. Aloha Platter was great to start with but the sauce on the shrimp wasn't delicious. Coconut shrimp dinner and teriyaki chicken were big hits. Shrimp bowl was quite plain and mixed veggies were not very good. Overall, glad we tried it, not sure if we'll be back or not.

Great food. Reminds me of my grandma's kitchen and going to luaus as a kid. Great service, great food. Great decor and ambiance. I can't wait to go back. I love the Kahlua pork and macaroni salad. Onolicious!

I was really looking forward to this place after reading the Yelp reviews. I really don't get the hype though...it was "just ok". It's best for lunch and I wouldn't go out of my way for it. We started with a small bowl of saimin. It has a fish broth flavor but little other flavor or aroma. It wasn't bad, just bland. I had the blackened mahi mahi bowl. The portion size was large and the fish was heavily seasoned (which when shredded and mixed with the rice worked perfectly). I had the pineapple sauce but you should probably add an additional side of sauce because they didn't give me much. My wife had the chicken teriyaki plate which came really close to being too dry. All-in-all, prices are decent (probably it's saving grace) and the food is not terrible but I wish we would not have went there.

We stopped by here on our way home from our Pensacola beach vacation, and I'm so glad we did! Everything we ordered was delicious, and I'm already making plans to add Aloha Grill to our 'must-do' list for the next time we return to Pensacola. I ordered the Mauna Kea Shrimp Wrap and substituted macaroni salad instead of the aloha fries. The wrap was amazing and had just the right amount of crunch due to the wontons inside the wrap. The macaroni salad was really tasty, too! My husband had the Kalua Pork Sandwich. This sandwich was huge and could have easily been shared. I tried a bite and it was just as yummy as my wrap. We were stuffed, but we didn't want to leave without trying dessert, so we shared the Desert Lumpia: spring rolls filled with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts with a scoop of coconut gelato. It was a terrific ending to a fantastic lunch. Can't wait to return to Aloha Grill! We will definitely come here more than once on our next trip.

We are in town visiting my in laws and decided to look at yelp for different restaurants. It did not disappoint! Aloha grill was fantastic. The service, location, prices and most of all food were amazing! We got the appetizer platter which was a great recommendation from our server. The poke was just ok. I've been to Hawaii so I know what traditional poke should taste like and this was close, but not the best. The blackened mahi tacos are a must. I highly recommend this spot for a casual lunch or a night out.

If you are expecting hawaiian food...look else where. Any hawaiian bbq or grill joint should have Portuguese sausage and eggs or loco moco. When we asked if they had a local plate they had no idea what we were talking about. Also, their musubi comes out as sushi roll pieces. Whaaa?!? Their saimin wasn't real saimin either. Terriyaki chicken was dry and not authentic hawaiian bbq. Service was friendly, but we made the drive and we're disappointed.

My husband and I live in gulf breeze, and this is one of our favorite restaurants. In fact, after trying it for the very first time 5 years ago, we new we wanted them to cater our wedding on the beach which they did. Their catering service was fantastic and at a great price. We have a few favorite dishes: husband loves the grilled mahi-mahi sandwich and I love their teriyaki burger (only served on Saturdays), the teriyaki steak plate, any of the chicken plates, and also the ahi ahi tuna dinner (seared thinly sliced tuna). The sweet potato fries are to die for (make sure you ask them for the sauce that goes great with it. I can't remember what they call it.). Also love their broccoli, macaroni salad, and brown rice. Our 14 month old son LOVES the Mac n cheese! The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are always there and are always glad to see you! Love em!!!!

Great food. Friendly staff. More of a lighter fare. I have had the wraps and the rice bowls. Both were good. Nice atmosphere for a strip mall.

If you like interesting food, go here. I have no idea what Hawaiian is supposed to taste like, but this was different and good. There are several tasty sauces that I think they make in-house. We got a mixed appetizer platter that had fried shrimp, beef skewers, chicken wings/drumettes, and pot stickers with pork. Plus an order of sweet potato fries. The shrimp were excellent; not overcooked. The beef was flat-out divine; perfect medium rare despite the thinness. Chicken had a tasty sauce on it. Pot stickers were 'meh', but I've never really liked pot stickers. However, they went really well with the pineapple sauce. Sweet potato fries were of normal quality. We got an excellent dessert thing which IIRC was passionfruit cheesecake. There was a layer of fruit mousse stuff on top of the cheesecake, then whipped cream on top of that. Tasty! The lighting in this place is a little strange, but okay - I think they're trying to make it look like a sunset. Which is fine, but it makes the bluish light of the standard florescents in the entry way really painful when you leave. Change those foyer lights out, restaurant owners, please! Prices seemed about average, but we did not order any of the entrees, so I can't comment on those. There were a lot of tasty-looking wraps on the menu at reasonable prices, but they all came with lettuce, which I'm immediately suspicious of in a wrap - it's just filler. I didn't get to see one, so will have to try next time.

The best restaurant in Navarre/Gulf Breeze!!! I always beg my mom to go here! Their sweet potato fries are THE BEST!

First of all, I'm from Hawaii, so I have credible opinions to say. I'm judging this compared to actual food from the island that I'm used to. I'm gonna start with THE CONS- The food is overpriced for the portion they serve. I got the "Papa Lau Lau" plate which was a swapping $15.99! It was salmon with kalua pork and spinach on top and two sides (not including rice, unless you get it as a side). It was NOT worth $16 to be honest! They need to INCLUDE rice with the plate, PLUS the sides!!! In Hawaii, every plate comes with TWO scoops of rice. Yup, rice is a STAPLE in Hawaiian/Asian food! You can't make it a side! Also, my husband got the kalua pork plate for $10 and there was NOT ENOUGH kalua pork!! Plates like these in Hawaii are only like $8-$10, but they include 1-2 scoops of rice and HALF of the plate is the actual entree, plus a scoop of mac salad on the side and even normal lettuce salad too. I was NOT pleased about the price and portion of the food they were serving. The owners need to go back to Hawaii to compare the prices and portion size they're serving. -.-" Speaking of macaroni salad. It's not the authentic Hawaiian style. Mac salad on the island is cooked more aldente and covered with more mayo. The salad we got was tough and dry and under-seasoned. The appetizers are also expensive. Ahi poke for $10 and it's SOOO little!!! It's not worth it. You can get ahi poke on the island for $10 and it comes in a big bowl WITH rice too! Some of their sauces are salty too. They need to tone down a bit on the shoyu (aka soy sauce). HOWEVER... The Pros: The customer service is friendly. They greet you with Aloha when you come in and Mahalo when leaving. The waitress told me what their popular dishes are when I asked. However, she did forget to give us utensils & napkins before our food got there at first, but that's not too big of a problem. There were a lot of customers when we went (about 7pm), so they were a bit busy. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Very Hawaii-inspired and great local feel. The food is good enough. They taste like what they're supposed to taste. Kalua pork is seasoned well, not too salty. The spam musubi tastes like spam musubi back on the 'aina. It's "good enough", not like SUPER DELICIOUS or anything. I'm giving this place 3 stars because it wasn't terrible food or service, but it does need some improving.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for a different restaurant that unknown to us had already closed down. I'm glad we stopped in; the Aloha Grill is definitely Hawaiian, and definitely authentic. We visit Maui regularly, and the food is as good or better here. If you like combinations of spam and rice, you'll find a lot to like on the menu. The Mahi sandwich was excellent. Don't worry; there's plenty of options for us haoles who want standard fare. They have enough menu items to annoy Gordon Ramsey, but you'll be happy with the variety. You should try this place at least once.

My mom wanted me to look up a place to eat lunch on our way to the beach and this was the place. I was glad to find it. It is in a strip mall and not on the beach but the food is yummy and they really made the most of their location. I had a grilled fish wrap, which was really good. It came with fries, which were some of the best fries I've had and a mix of regular and sweet potato. My mother had some kind of soup that she liked and the service was very nice. I will definitely go here again the next time I go to the beach! I do believe it is possible to miss Hawaii without every having been there but this place can help with that.

Great alternative to fried crap! No fronting here. Very descriptive menu that was consistent with our orders. We were traveling and stopped in on a Saturday. The waitstaff was very informative (which was great since alot of the menu was unfamiliar deliciousness) While informative she was not annoying. Huli huli chicken was just as described, sweet, tangy, & a teeeeny spicy. Great char on chicken & was juicy and moist. The veggies and rice were both steamed which I absolutely loved since so many restaurants opt for the "slap some Sysco clarified butter on the flat top & grill those healthy veggies into overdone oblivion" method. Hahaha. The only thing I would say was "meh" was the side salad as it was iceberg lettuce which I knew because it said it on the menu and the waitress said so. I just prefer greens myself but that said the lettuce was crisp & cold. :) Nice wholesome meal. Timely service. Nice Hawaiian music in the backdrop. Very reasonably priced. Will come back when passing thru. :)

This was a first time for me. I am already excited to bring my wife on the next visit. The food was delicious. I have been to plenty of Hawaiian BBQ gigs in Los Angeles. Now most of them are chains, but are still great food quality. With Aloha Grill, you don't get the corporate feel as it is local, and privately owned. The service is great. The servers always had a smile! The ambience is calm. Lights faded, acoustic music playing. And a clean restaurant! The prices are fair. The food. I ordered the Spicy Hawaiian Plate. It wasn't spicy. But was definitely fresh & tasty. It came w/ seared chicken in teriyaki sauce, over brown rice (my choice), w/ broccoli and macaroni salad on the side. Definitely a win. Not a 5 star for only a shallow reason - I thought the serving of rice was too small. The extra 'small' scoop of rice is also a little pricey at $1.99.

Yup, the other reviews were spot on, this place is great. We had the blackened fish tacos, mauni kae shrimp bowl over white rice, and the little guy had the kids teriyaki chicken. Everything was incredibly tasty and very reasonably priced. They do offer military discounts, but only for those in uniform. Personally, I don't like this type of policy since it seems like businesses just want to be seen giving their good will, but that's just my perception. I'd prefer they don't just not offer any military discount. Still, a great experience with great food.

Don't be fooled because this place is in a strip mall! I wish I could take this place home with me. Boyfriend and I came here a rainy day while on vacation. We sat outside because it seemed a little crowded inside, and the staff's attentiveness to us did not suffer because of that. I had the maui wowie pork sandwich, which was a barbecue pork sandwich with coleslaw, and the boyfriend had the teriyaki burger, a special for Saturdays. Pros: - We had beer prior to food, and the beer selection is not huge, but for someone like me who sort of looks past the Bud Light and Michelob Ultra to the "Import" or "Local" section, I really love that they had Kona and Leffe available. - Food was DELICIOUS. The bbq pork tastes like it's been slow cooked in a sweet, tangy pineapple sauce all day. They don't really add extra sauce like bbq places tend to do, but with the coleslaw I don't think it's necessary. The boyfriend's teriyaki burger came with a grilled pineapple that really tied the teriyaki and the burger tastes together. - They mix sweet potato and regular potato fries together as a default, which is kinda awesome. Our waitress suggested a spicy/sweet Thai-inspired dipping sauce (I forgot what it was called), and that was a fantastic touch alongside plain ole' ketchup. - Fairly large dining room. The brief moment I did go inside, everyone was talking quietly and there was soft ukelele music playing. I admire a quiet atmosphere in a restaurant. - Spacious bathroom! Always a plus. Cons: - Only two tables to sit at outside, which is probably a huge bummer when the weather is awesome. - Well, the weather was gross all weekend, but I can't really blame that on the waitstaff. ;) GO HERE. It's amazing. When I come back to Pensacola, this is now on my "Must Go" list.

This was my first time eating Hawaiian food. I love it. The food was outstanding. We had the aloha platter for starters on the recommendation of or waitress. It was delicious and a good amount of food. Probably enough for a meal on its own. My wife had a teriyaki burger. The burger was huge and outstanding. It is only served on Saturdays. I had the pipeline. It was very good. But when I go back I will try something else. We typed it off with a piece of white chocolate macadamia nut cheesecake, wow. All in all this is one of the best meals I have ever had. And the bill for all of that came to just over $40.... Very reasonable.

The Nalu Aloha Grill and Aloha Grill are the same. From the set looks like both restaurants merged. There are two main doors but one is locked and the other is the unit next to it. When you walk in there is a huge check in area....probably will have someone waiting with menus to seat you. The main dining is in the back to the left in the other unit, with extra overflow dinning tables behind the check in area. In other words this place is big! We ordered the saimin, teriyaki beef bowl and side order mac salad. The only good item was the saimin. The beef was too tough. The cut of the beef was too thick to be teri beef. I was disappointed to find out that mac salad does not come with the plate lunch. Instead the beef bowl had zucchini...which was under cooked. The mac salad was okay but also under cooked. It could have been frozen..hard to tell. Overall, the food was okay. The menu is not a typical "local plate lunch" type menu. Playing Hawaiian music was a good touch. I may come here again...maybe.

This place is great. I've never been to Hawaii, so as far as I'm concerned this is the real deal. I've eaten here on and off over the years and am always happy when I see that it's still going strong. For such a small place it has a lot of character. The staff and service is always first-rate, and the food is really good. I think they have some really smart menu choices, including their signature cocktails, poke (PO-ke) and Hawaiian-style pulled pork. They also have salads, wraps and rice and noodle bowls. Aloha Grill is definitely a fine example of a mom & pop restaurant making the right moves to keep people coming back.

We just drove 40 minutes for some hawaiian food and was not disappointed. Overall this looked like a fancy hawaiian place, not the typical laid back hole in the wall that I'm used to but I still liked it. It's a very sit down low light kind of environment. I like the whole feel of the place. You're greeted by the waitress once you walk thru the doors and get to choose your seat. I tried out the Moco Loco which is a Saturday only treat, it was delicious!!! A nice sized heap of brown rice (I made mines as healthy as can be) covered with two meat type patties, sauced up with brown gravy and garnished with a sunny side up egg. nom nom nom it also came with a side salad type deal. I didn't stop there, I also tried their musubi. What type of Filipino would I be if I didn't?! For $5.99 I wasn't to thrilled about their price but it's actually a pretty good portion of musubi. Of course I finished off this crazy meal with their cheesecake. and then I cried for 40 minutes because of all the calories I knew I consumed in this wonderful meal. Can't wait to come back!!

Great place to eat! Fish tacos! Off the chart! Only small, tiny, tiny issue! And I don't know for sure! But the cole sale used for the fish tacos could be store bought! Not sure! It's "okay" either way! But I highly recommend! Staff is excellent, owners are engaging, and the food is warm and tasty! Great place for lunch or dinner!

The food was amazing. My husband got the mahi sandwich with aloha fries, i got the mahi wrap with salad, and our daughter got the kids chicken tenders with fries. Everything was perfect. We absolutely loved it. We drove over two hours to visit the gulf breeze zoo and saw this place on yelp and decided to eat local. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was so nice. We will definitely be back.

Went here once and it was good. Went another time and ended up eating outside in a torrential downpour. It was great. I had a spinach salad with grilled shrimp and a ton of other items to round out the dish. It was fabulous and I would go there as often as I could if I lived in Gulf Breeze.

Being from Hawaii I am quite particular on my judgement of local food. But hands down this place has one my heart and my stomach. In fact I have to say they serve the very best Hauspie pie I have ever had, both back home in Hawaii and here on the mainland. I can't wait to return. Both excellent service from our waitress and excellent food from the kitchen.

Love their fish tacos and sweet potato fires. Their Ahi Tuna is delicious! We chose to sit outside because the restaurant smells a little weird, and is too cold for comfort. The service was good, and friendly.

I realize i'm probably being over critical partially because i'm Hawaiian and partially because i'm a food snob. I also realize that a restaurant does need to cater to their demographics, but regardless this place only gets 2 1/2 stars. Food: Minus 2 stars for the most atrocious poke i've probably ever consumed. The poke was drenched in shoyu. In Hawaii, less shoyu is more. The poke was so salty, it was practically inedible. They could have dressed up their poke by adding in some onions, and sesame seeds (both cost effective and will help stretch their batch). The saimin's broth was pretty bad, and their supposed lau lau is nothing more than salmon with spinach on top. My husband ordered ribs, with brown rice. The brown rice was so flaky and dry, more like Rice Pilaf than anything. Again i realize that authentic wouldn't get them very far in this area, but let's not give Hawaiian food (poke, lau lau) a bad name! L & L does quite well in California and it doesn't stray too far from the traditional plate lunch. Service: The waitress was very attentive, and seemed to know a lot about the menu, and was able to explain the differences in their food versus the authentic version. It was pretty adorable hearing her talk so knowledgeably about hawaiian food in a southern accent! Prices: $10 for 1/8th a pound of atrocious poke is just appalling. But their $8 teriyaki burger special sounded like a heck of a steal. Ambiance: The one great thing this place had going for them was their decor. Tastefully done, and pays homage to the hawaiian culture. They played the old school Hawaiian music, and that was nice. It'd be better if they also added in some more current Hawaiian music. But otherwise, very well done.

We used to live in Gulf Breeze and were frequent patrons at Aloha Grill. Every time we visit the area, this is the first restaurant we visit. The food is excellent, the prices are good, and the service is great. The owner always greets you with a smile. When we move back to the area in a year we will be regulars again.

When you first arrive, you'll be greeted by "ALOHA!" from at least one employee. They have the NALU rolls which are home/hand made everyday & you've got to be quick on the draw, because they sell out fast - because they're so darn yummy. The Soyuz Sauce that comes with it, can virtually be drank, it's so awesome!. We usually get the Spicy Chicken Bowl, with the Pineapple flavored sauce. But, have heard the ribs are totally "tubular!". Can't wait to try those next time!. The Aloha Grill recently doubled the space and procured the unit next-door. The atmosphere is very "beachy" and pleasant to the eyes. They're always busy whenever I go for lunch, so getting the place next door was very needed!. Service is always off-the-chain and never go wrong in any way shape or form. When you leave, you'll always hear a "Mahalo!"...which makes me turn around and say the same back to them. This is just a great hidden jewel. I highly recommend it.

This place is fantastic. It's small but the atmosphere is relaxing, servers pleasant and food something a great flare from the norm. If you want to jump off the beaten path but not exotic, this is your place. There is great care in the food and serving sizes.. I left full but did order two appetizers of the lumpia made rolls because others at the table couldn't stop eating them.

The place is small. Server and "hostess?" Were very nice. I ordered the Mahi Mahi bowl. It was fantastic. My hubby ordered the BBQ chicken. It is an acquired taste. A good place to check out!

I've been here twice and keep ordering the blackened fish tacos. These are the best fish tacos I've had in the area. They remind me of the ones I had in San Diego a few years ago. The fusion of the cole slaw and the mango really hit the spot. I also love the aloha fries - a combination of sweet potato and regular fries = delicious. I will be back to hopefully try something new.

I've had the kealoha plate many times. Its my fav. with teriyaki steak and pineapple chicken and sides. the Mac salad is very good and I double up the broccoli and skip the rice. Tried the fish tacos and noodle soup recently. It was also good.

I finally went to check this place out with my son after driving by it for years. The service was super friendly and fast. I had the Kalua Pork and my son had the Saimin. Both were very good and a decent sized portion for very little money. The rice side with my pork was dry and pretty tasteless but the tasty pork more than made up for it. My 11 year old son - a big fan of most Asian noodle dishes - licked his bowl clean. Will definitely return next time we're in Pensacola.

Great place for lunch, good Hawaiian food. I ordered the teriyaki steak wrap and my girl friend ordered the grouper tacos. It was all very good. The one thing that didn't fit in was the canned soda??? and it was $1.25 for the can. The service was GREAT. We will be going back.

This is a delightful little restaurant in Gulf Breeze that serves Hawaiian influenced food. I got the Ali'i Ahi pupu (appetizer) and a Create Your Own Aloha Salad. The tuna was excellent. To build your own salad, you fill out a salad sheet, marking the ingredients from a fairly long and quite varied list. The salad was $5.99. You can add teriyaki steak or pineapple chicken to the salad for $2.50. Everything I ordered on my salad was really fresh. I enjoyed eating here and will definitely return.

been going here for a few years. Always great service! I have brought my 5 year old in with me on many occasions and the wait staff always make a scene over her. The food is always good and very reasonable priced. So glad to see them in Gulf Breeze and it's always a place that I recommend to my friends and family when asked about good places in Gulf Breeze/Navarre area.

I love this little place! Amaaaaazine fish tacos! They have a unique spin on them, putting a fruit topping (mango I think) and cole slaw on the tacos. In addition, the raw tune appetizer (i forget the name) is incredibly fresh and hits the spot! Wash is down with some guava juice and you are good to go!

I wanted something different/new, so I tried this place one day...glad I did! :) I got some sort of teriyaki style chicken, it came with white rice (GOOD white rice) and some pretty good macaroni salad. The portions were just right, not too much and not too little. Nice little place for lunch!

The decor of this place almost made me forget I was in a strip mall in Gulf Breeze, if just for a minute.. The music is fun upbeat Hawaiian and it almost takes you to a Hawaiian beach...without the sand and tourists. The candles on each table set a great mood and help you escape from the panhandle atmosphere for a bit. Everyone who walks in is greeted with an"Aloha" and a friendly smile by at least one of the chipper servers. If the rating was just about servers they would score a easy 4.5. When we seemed to press our servers knowledge of native Hawaiian eats, she was quick too seek out answers for our questions and not just brush off the old "its basically the same" or something like that. Finally the food....I expect a bit coming from California, where L&L and Mom and Pop Hawaiian has us Californians somewhat spoiled, still my husband and I were excited to visit the Aloha Grill. We started off with Lumpia, 5 rolls for about $5, at this price I was expecting a bit larger, and the roll ended up being something so-so.. I would not order it again, but I could not say it was sub-par. My entree was the Cajun Chicken, and after the lumpia I was hoping for a comeback with the chicken brest.....Fail.....I was served a chicken brest with enough spice on top to call it Cajun, a scoop of rice, and steamed broccoli. Over all Good Service Great Decor Fresh, average Food.
